Modular Systems

In 2019, ARCSOC produced a modular stage and rubber matting system for HistoryWorks, a Cambridge-based organisation that works with in the Abbey Ward area — a one of the most deprived parts of the city.

The moveable stage was constructed for HistoryWorks’ outreach programme, to be used as both seats and storage, in performance or play. Along with the boxes, ARCSOC designed a system of six rubber mats, which pupils could peg into the ground. Whether to mark out a performance area for singing recitals and school plays, or to use as a floor covering during messy arts & crafts sessions, the furnitures could be used to make space for creativity in local schools that were without.
